Novena of the Founders of the Canadian Church

From April 30th to May 8th, each year, we celebrate the faith of these women and men who lived the Gospel in our country, offering their lives for the founding of our Church. The theme of the 2025 novena is "A shared hope." Let us live with the same hope that animated Saint Marie of the Incarnation, Saint Francois de Laval, Blessed Marie-Catherine of Saint-Augustine, and the Canadian Martyrs in our country.

April 30th, 7 p.m.: Saint Marie of the Incarnation
Mass presided over by Msgr Jean Tailleur, in the outdoor chapel of the Ursuline Monastery. Across from 12 Donnacona Street, Quebec City, G1R 3Y7
May 3, 4 p.m. and May 4, 9:30 a.m.: The Holy Canadian Martyrs
Masses presided over by Father Pierre Bélanger, SJ, at the Church of the Holy Canadian Martyrs, 955 de Bienville Avenue, G1S 3C1
May 6, 7 p.m.: Saint François de Laval
Mass presided over by Msgr Pelchat, at the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Quebec
May 8, 7 p.m.: Blessed Catherine of Saint-Augustine
Mass presided over by Msgr Tailleur, at the Augustinian Chapel, 32 Charlevoix Street (pedestrian entrance) or 75 des Remparts Street (limited parking available)
